Who are you?
We are a group of Artists, Crafters and Photographers all living and working in and around Exmoor. The group was founded in October 2013 by Debbie Brannen for like minded people to have the opportunity to showcase their work under the Exmoor Arts banner at exhibitions, fayres, galleries and online.
I’ve found something I really like, how can I purchase it?
There are two main ways to purchase work from our members.
Firstly, Exmoor Arts runs an Etsy Shop which you can view here.
Secondly, if you have found a piece of work you like and it is not listed in the Etsy Shop you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and please give details of the work you are interested in.
I’m an Artist and I’d like to join Exmoor Arts, how do I do that?
To become a member of Exmoor Arts, please first decide which type of membership you would like to apply for. Membership details can be viewed by clicking here. Once you have decided which one to join, please email us with examples of your work and we will be in contact. In order to keep the diversity of the group please bear in the mind that we retain the right to move you to our waiting list.
What is the waiting list?
For example, lets say you are a landscape photographer. As we already have a landscape photographer in the group, you will be added to a waiting list and should a vacancy become available we will contact you to see if you are still interested in joining. Please note that this does not cost you to be on the waiting list and you will not be charged until you take up membership.
Can anyone join Exmoor Arts?
Anyone wishing to join Exmoor Arts are subject to approval by Debbie Brannen. We do look for a certain quality within our members work.
Etsy and Paypal fees. What are they?
Becoming a premium member gives you access to sell your work via our Etsy Shop. However there are fees that should be considered when you add a listing.
Etsy charges $0.20 per listing, which roughly works out at £0.13 and this listing will be in the shop for four months. If your item sells, then Etsy takes a 3.5% transaction fee on the item sale price.
If the buyer uses PayPal to purchase the item then PayPal will also take a commission of 3.4% + 20p per transaction on the total item sale price. This means that currently your fees would be 6.9% + 20p per transaction on the item sale price.
We therefore recommend you increase your selling price by 15% to cover these fees.
How do I list my items on Etsy?
Don’t panic, we will do it for you! You will need to provide us with clear images of your work, sizes, prices and descriptions etc and we will help you all the way.
What happens if I sell an item on Etsy?
When an item is sold Etsy will release funds to our Exmoor Arts bank account within 7 days. We will then ask you to raise an invoice to Exmoor Arts for the cost of the item, less the fees mentioned above, which we will then pay via PayPal or BACS.
PLEASE NOTE: PayPal will then charge you a further 3.4% + 20p, hence why we recommend the 15% increase on your asking price to cover these costs.
I’m a Gallery Owner and I would like to contact one of your Members, how do I do that?
Simple! If you are interested in any of our artists, please send an email to email@example.com and we will put you in contact with them.
